Bryn Davidson is a LEED accredited designer and freelance sustainability consultant
holding a B.Sc in mechanical engineering (UC Berkeley) and an M. Arch
(U.British Columbia).
Planning and Business Development Coordinator: Jonathan Frantz
With degrees in Urban Planning & Economics, Jonathan has experience in finance, transportation planning, energy planning and policy, and event organization. He has worked as a transportation demand management consultant, and is conducting research on hydrogen energy. Jonathan has also worked with a number of communities within Canada and abroad.
His current planning work is carried out through his firm Ear to the Ground Planning.
Policy and Outreach Coordinator: Tom Lancaster
Masters degree in Urban Planning, B.A. Philosophy, B.A. Geography. Tom has worked as a community and land use planner in BC in various capacities for 5 years. He specializes in sustainability planning with organizations and local government. He has experience with non-profits and is currently employed by Smart Growth BC as the Manager of Smart Growth Advisory Services. Tom has skills in community engagement strategies, land use planning, cross-cultural planning and specialized skills in using multimedia in the planning context. He is the co-founder of Ear to the Ground Planning Inc, a firm that specializes in innovative methods of community engagement.

Emilie K. Adin, MCIP:
Emilie has an Urban Design Certificate and a Masters degree in Urban Planning. Emilie is Deputy City Planner for the City of Langford, consults with Adin Research & Planning and PlanGirl International, and writes and presents extensively on ecological and social sustainability. She has significant experience planning with residents of First Nations, rural, urban and suburban neighbourhoods, on both physical and socio-economic planning initiatives.
Theo Breedon:
Masters degree in Urban Planning. Currently the Canadian Volunteer Services Oversees program coordinator. Based out of Ottawa. Theo’s background is in international development and community planning. He has worked with many non-profit and charitable organizations around the world and here in Canada.
Jason Emmert:
Masters degree in Urban Planning. Jason specializes in International development work and has been employed by several international NGOs in Asia. He iscurrently working in Brazil.
Derek Kaplan:
Masters degree in Architecture. Derek is an intern-architect with Peter Cardew architects, and brings to the project an ongoing interest in the intersection of global energy politics with local design strategies.
Matti Siemiatycki:
PhD in Urban Planning. Matti specializes in transportation planning. He has published numerous articles in planning journals on cost and decision-making related to public private partneships in transportation mega-projects.
Hannah Teicher:
Masters degree in Architecture. Hannah’s research focuses on the adaptation and rejuvenation of decaying North American suburbs. Recently, she was the winner of a national (U.S.) architectural writing competition sponsored by ArchVoices.
Maria Vamvalis:
Masters degree in Education. Maria has several years of experience teaching at alternative schools, as well as her more recent work with non-profit organizations around community planning and egalitarian-related issues in development and conflict.
Mayna Vancaille:
Masters degree in Urban Planning. Mayna has many years of municipal land use planning experience and is well-versed in the subtleties of local government.
Peter Whitelaw:
Masters degree in Urban Planning. Peter has worked in transportation planning and is an employee of Holland Barrs, a Vancouver based sustainability planning consulting firm.
